According to Muhammad Rudi, KIIE has succeeded in building one of the best industrial areas to maintain the investment climate in Batam.
"Comfortable investors lead to smooth production processes, which in turn boosts the economy through high labor absorption," Rudi stated after attending the inauguration of the Rebuild Center of PT Thiess Engineering Indonesia at KIIE on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
He emphasized that increasing investment in Batam will have a positive impact on regional economic growth.
Therefore, Muhammad Rudi invited all stakeholders to work together to sustain a conducive atmosphere in Batam City.
"Currently, numerous projects from Australia and other major countries are entering Batam. It is essential to consider the components supporting investment to avoid future obstacles," he concluded.
Meanwhile, Kris Taenar Wiluan, CEO of Citramas Group, conveyed gratitude through Peters Vincent, President Director of KIIE, for BP Batam's ongoing support in bolstering the Batam economy.
He stated that his company is also committed to develope an optimal industrial area for investor convenience.
This effort aligns with BP Batam's commitment to prepare supporting infrastructure, such as widening main roads and developing Hang Nadim Batam Airport and Batu Ampar Port.
"Such developments require robust support and synergy between the government and key sectors," he said.
Peters explained that KITK spans approximately 540 hectares and is strategically located along Batam City's east coas. Furthermore, this industrial area is also equipped with comprehensive supporting facilities.
The development of KITK is aimed at serving the oil and gas and energy-related industries, particularly for companies that require large areas of land with easy access to the coast for the movement of heavy and oversized cargo. This area has absorbed around 14,000 workers.
"We want KITK's efforts in attracting investment to also positively impact the people of Batam by providing job opportunities that help the government reduce unemployment," added Peters.
