Encouraging Batam Industry to Advance, Kabil Industrial Area BLK Will Create Workforce

The Batam City Job Training Center (BLK) in the Kabil Integrated Industrial Area will soon operate to meet the needs of industrial workers in Batam City. The Batam BLK will open five types of initial training, such as housekeeping, barista, welding, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and animation. The HR Director of Citramas Group, Nara Dewa, expressed his support for BLK as a solution to answer the needs of the labor market in Batam City.

"The Head of the Batam Manpower Office has also reviewed the readiness of the Kabil BLK here. Yes, we hope that BLK can prepare professional and qualified workers," he said. Friday (5/7/2024). Nara Dewa also hopes that the Batam BLK can be a strategic step for the government in creating competent and competitive Human Resources (HR) in the world of work. "God willing, next week, the Minister will also come here to inaugurate the building and review it directly," he added.

The Batam BLK in the Kabil area spans an area of 4.2 hectares managed by the Kabil Integrated Industrial Area (KITK). Upon completing their training at the location, participants will receive two certificates: a training certificate and a competency certificate.

Additionally, the Batam BLK provides trainees with opportunities to directly enter the workforce. Meanwhile, Rahmat P. Siregar, a representative from the Medan BBPLK, stated that they will invite several industry players to observe the training process firsthand. "The hope is that they can recruit directly," he said.

How long is the training provided?

The duration of the training varies depending on the type and category, ranging from 22 to 42 days. To date, there are 80 participants enrolled in the training, out of a larger number of applicants. With the establishment of the Batam BLK, it is expected that the industrial demand for skilled labor in Batam City will be met promptly.
