BP Batam Hosts 2024 Investment Awards
Several Foreign Companies Recognized with PMA Awards by BP Batam

The Batam Business Agency (BP Batam), through the Public Relations, Promotion, and Protocol Bureau, successfully held the 2024 Investment Award on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Radisson Golf and Convention Center in Batam. This prestigious event was part of the celebrations for the 53rd BP Batam Service Day, themed "New Batam, Advanced Indonesia."
The event began with a keynote speech by Susiwijono Moegiarso, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BP Batam. The activity, which was officially opened by Acting Head of BP Batam, Purwiyanto, served as a moment of appreciation for business leaders who have contributed to advancing Batam’s economy.
In his speech, Susiwijono emphasized that his party, which is responsible for setting general policies, as well as overseeing, guiding, and coordinating activities at BP Batam, fully supports the strategic initiatives BP Batam has taken in developing an internationally recognized investment area.
He also commended BP Batam for serving as an extension of the Central Government in overseeing the creation of a conducive investment climate in Batam. Building on Susiwijono’s remarks, Acting Head of BP Batam, Purwiyanto, highlighted that Batam’s appeal as a promising investment destination—both in terms of quality and quantity—continues to grow internationally.
“In addition to the record growth in investment, exports, and imports, BP Batam remains committed to advancing various development projects. One of our main goals is to facilitate existing investments while enhancing Batam’s appeal to investors worldwide,” Purwiyanto explained.
Following these remarks, several parties were recognized as winners of the 2024 BP Batam Investment Award. In the PMA category for Compliance in Reporting LKPM Submission, the award was given to PT Volex Indonesia Batam, while the PMA with the Largest Certificate of Origin (COO) Preparation was awarded to PT SMOE Indonesia.
In addition, the PMA with the Highest TKDN Value was awarded to PT Yokohama Industrial Products Manufacturing Indonesia, the Inclusive Company award went to PT Flextronics Technology Indonesia, and the PMA with the Largest Investment Realization in the Shipbuilding Industry was given to PT United Sindo Perkasa.
The Company with the Most Workforce award was presented to PT McDermott Indonesia Batam, while the Newest Industrial Area award was claimed by the Tunas Prima Industrial Area. Finally, the PMA with the Largest Investment Realization was awarded to PT Xiaomi Technology Indonesia.
For individual awards, the Innovative Tourism Area Developer award went to Tek Po (Abi), owner of the Golden Prawn area, and the Batam Development Inspiration award was presented to Johanes Kennedy Aritonang, Chairman of the Panbil Group.
